Reviews
Beautiful grounds and surrounds, free WiFi, spacious clean restrooms, few visitors, and loads of flowers in bloom at this time of the year. Dog-friendly. Free admission.
This is a beautiful garden and hike. Such a nice view of the sunset pouring into the Niguel valley. The variety of plants was engaging and I was super entertained with the wildlife.
Beautiful area to explore; even on a chilly winter day! Some flowers were already blooming and the rose garden was still a delight to smell. Great view of the neighboring areas and mountains. Our only complaint was that many of the plant markers were incorrect or perhaps outdated.
Well maintained walking trail. Great place to bring your dog and get a good workout going up and down the trails. Loved the little "Italian style" sculpture garden they have at the top.
Nice walk. Could spend an hour or two here easily. Well manicured and lots of variety that is sustainable in S California.
Didn't see any signs to say it was ok or not, but saw a couple dogs on leash - seems dog friendly.
Highly recommended.
Great spot to go on a quick nature walk. Lots of nature and well maintained walways with PLENTY of parking. Very clean and also has a little water park that looks to be open during Summer.
Niguel Botanical Preserve is a model for planting gardens with similar climate as southern California. There are many winding paths and secret hideaways for you to explore this 18 acres hillside preserve with several lookout points. You can bring your dogs and hike around the preserve. There are girl scouts practicing their skills, singing camp songs, as well as planting sections and dedication areas working the preserve.
You can scan a QR code get a map of the preserve or there are posts with actual paper maps by the amphitheater near the community center and near the formal garden.
Highly recommended to park by the community center and walk up from the south end of the preserve, because the pathway is wider and you get to see how the preserve evolved. The north end and higher up on the hillside are still being developed and planted. Many plants are tagged so you can learn the names as you explore each section of the preserve. Enjoy!
A really cute area with a large expanse of trails (paved and unpaved) and great views. Parking was easy and free (I parked by the community center). There are also some shaded picnic tables.
